To wash your hands properly during the COVID-19 pandemic, follow these steps:


1. Wet your hands with clean, running water.

2. Apply enough soap to cover all surfaces of your hands.

3. Rub your palms together, lathering the soap.

4. Interlace your fingers and scrub the back of your hands.

5. Clean between your fingers and under your nails by rubbing them against your palms.

6. Scrub your thumbs and the back of your fingers.

7. Continue rubbing for at least 20 seconds (or sing "Happy Birthday" twice).

8. Rinse your hands thoroughly under running water.

9. Use a clean towel or air dry them if possible.

10. If soap and water are not available, use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Apply it all over your hands and rub until dry.
